How Ciara Lost 60 Pounds in Only 4 Months
Only four months after bringing a sweet baby boy to this world, Ciara has shocked the world with how fast she was able to bring her body back to tip-top condition.
She will be showing off her sexy body on the cover of the September issue of Shape magazine.
Ciara admitted that it wasn’t easy to bring her body back in shape and it was a result of a very strict exercise and diet regimen. After her baby boy Future was born May this year, the I Bet singer waited for her doctor to give her the thumbs up to start exercising again. In the meantime Ciara indulged her every craving and ended up gaining a whopping 60 pounds. When her doctor gave her the green light, Ciara turned to trainer Gunnar Peterson to create a workout regimen fit for her needs and fitness condition. But she didn’t actually follow the regimen to the letter but she supplemented it with intense training of her own.
As the music star says, she would go to Gunnar Peterson first for her one-hour training session, after which she would have two more cardio sessions later in the day. Besides that she had a very clean and strict eating plan. “It was a very intense program, and I was extremely focused on success,” as Ciara puts it.
We are all human, and we all need a cheat day once in a while, don’t we?
Even though she was extremely focused Ciara admitted crumbling under the pressure a couple of times: “When I’m on a strict eating regimen, at some point I have to have French fries, a cheeseburger and pizza…and vanilla ice cream and some Oreos.”
Something great that she did was drinking lots and lots of water. “I tell myself that water’s my medicine and that to stay well, I have to drink a gallon of it every day.”
Something completely new for Ciara that she fell in love with was boxing.
“Peterson puts me through a one hour-long plyometric cardio circuit that always includes some elements of boxing. What’s amazing is that you are getting a 3 in 1 training – It is hitting your muscles; it is a cardiovascular workout; and it is a mental exercise…after I do a few rounds of that, I feel as if I can conquer the world.”
So what do you need to do to lose 60 pounds in 4 months?
All you need is a good workout and eating regimen, some willpower to follow it, and of course you need some free time to be able to concentrate on it. With our hectic lives it is hard to find time to eat and live healthy, but the truth is that it doesn’t take much more than that to be fit and attractive. Ciara is living proof, just take a look at her hot body! But also remember that it’s not just how you look, the more important thing is your health.
