Fat Furnace: The Ultimate Weight Loss Program
Well, summer has passed and a long cold winter is upon us, but if some of you have lived through the summer with fat on their belly, and would wish to change that, now is the time to act. Don’t wait for spring to come, make a head start with the help of our 3-part program developed by personal trainer and developer of Holistic Fitness, Gregory Joujon-Roche.
This is a complete detox program which includes cleansing your body of toxins, and establishing a healthy diet and a regular fitness regime. And we’re not going to lie to you – it’ not going to be easy, but the good things in life never are.
However, if you follow this program to the letter you can expect results even after a month or two.
Here’s the bad news: if you want this fitness regime to show results, first you must cleanse your body of all the toxins it has accumulated. If we had to put in one word, that word would be WATER. You must drink at least 10 glasses of water a day. “I want you to break the world record in drinking water,” says Joujon-Roche and continuous by saying, “once you get the hang of it and get into rhythm, you’ll be surprised how fast you will be losing pounds.”
Here is the 72-hour long detox you need to go through:
Breakfast, 7 A.M. – You just got out of bed? Then rush to the kitchen and have two full glasses of water immediately. This will kick-start your body after several hours of latency (aka sleep).
After drinking water it’s time for breakfast. Take a handful of spinach, one medium sized apple, a pinch of celery and ginger. Mix it all up and turn it into a gooey paste. Don’t expect it to taste like steak dinner, but know that it will completely clean your inner organs. “After three days, when you start eating normal food again, you will absorb calories in a completely different way and you will digest food in a more efficient way. This paste is something like a new hairstyle for your organs,” says Gregory Joujon-Roche. If you have leftovers, pack it in a doggy bag and leave it for later, you’ll need it.
Next thing you need is whey protein powder. Buy some good quality whey protein and mix 2 tablespoons of it with lukewarm water. Drink the mixture.
After having your protein shake, eat 15 almonds which are filled with omega-3s and fiber. The omega-3s will aid you in your fight with body fat while the fibers will help you stay regular.
Lunch, 1 P.M. – Pour some rice cereal, millet, and quinoa in a bowl, cover it with water and heat it in a micro-wave or on the stove; add a half of teaspoon of honey and cinnamon and there you have it – your lunch is ready. After lunch, mix in another 2 tablespoons of whey protein with water and drink it all up.
Afternoon, 4 P.M. – It’s time for a snack. Remember those green gooey leftovers from breakfast? Have it as an afternoon snack. Joujon-Roche swears it tastes better in the afternoon. We weren’t so sure about the taste, but we are sure that it does wonders for your inner organs.
Early evening, 7 P.M. – Time to hit the gym! Initially, you won’t have the strength to hit the weights, but at this stage you don’t really need weight training at all. A good stretching session will do wonders for your kidneys – by stretching you are actually applying pressure on your kidneys and squeezing them like a sponge in order to flush out excess water (and toxins).
After the stretching session move on to cardio: 20 minutes on the treadmill, 20 minutes on the cross-trainer, and 20 minutes on the bike. Don’t force it, exercise at a moderate intensity (50-70% of your maximum heart rate). “It’s vital that you don’t go at it with a 100 percent” says Gregory, “because if you do, your blood sugar will plummet while you won’t burn any fat.”
Sweat will be pouring off your face – that’s the toxins making a run for it.
Late evening, 9:30 P.M. – Head home for another bowl of rice cereal, millet, and quinoa, followed by another two tablespoons of whey protein. This time you can also have a vegetable salad (hold the dressing), but stay away from fruit. The whole day you have been eating foods that stabilize you blood sugar levels and, now, the fructose in fruit would only raise your blood sugar levels sky-high. “As you need to fill your stomach with light meals,” says Joujon-Roche, “stay away from any gravies or sauces.”
And the next day, do this all over again – This is a 3-day detox, which means you have two more days of this. But even after the first day you can be pleased with what you’ve accomplished. Take a look at yourself in the mirror – notice how you’re not as bloated as usual? That’s the first sign of improvement. Enjoy every small victory and prepare yourself for something even tougher than this, because the next stage is…
