12 Most Successful Diets among Celebs

By  |

There are numerous diets out there prescribed by doctors and nutrition experts, mostly to help people lose weight in the quickest way possible. Some diets are based on introducing healthy food choices, some help you lose weight more or less quickly, but some – such as the diets celebrities have been on – were designed to help them become as skinny as possible, very fast.

A part of celebrities’ job is to look the best they can, so they follow only those diets that have been proven to be the most successful, and lucky for us, they have shared their secret to weight loss with the public, so we can do the same thing.

Not all of these diets are healthy, or recommendable, but they are the 12 most successful ones that helped celebs lose excess weight and prepare for red carpet events.

1. The Dukan Diet

The popularity of Dukan Diet spread around 2010 and many people wanted to give it a try. The diet was originally designed by French doctor Pierre Dukan to help obese people lose a lot of weight as quickly as possible. Once the Daily Mail featured the diet in 2011, several high-profile celebrities who had only a few pounds to lose to reach ‘perfection’ tried it and were amazed with the results.

Kate Middleton used the Dukan Diet before her wedding with Prince William, and she lost, according to some, too much weight and became skinnier than she should be. However, this only shows that this diet works on both people with a lot of excess weight as well as those who only need to lose a couple of pounds. Kate actually lost 4 lbs in 4 days during the first phase of the diet. Several other celebrities reported success with this diet, including Kate’s mother Carol Middleton, Jennifer Lopez and Gisele Budchen.

The Dukan Diet consists of 4 phases2 to lose weight and 2 to maintain it.

In the first (attack) phase, which lasts 2-10 days (depending on how much weight you want to lose), you base your diet only on proteins, while in the second (cruise) phase you can eat non-starchy vegetables every other day. There are a hundred allowed foods and the amounts are not limited so you’ll never get hungry.
