The study included more than 74,000 female nurses between the ages of 38 and 62 who were observed over the course of 12 years.

The women who ate whole grains, including whole wheat, were 49% less likely to gain weight than those who ate products made with refined wheat flour.

The study linked these results with the fact that whole wheat is rich in dietary fiber and keeps you full for a longer time. As gaining fat is never healthy and can lead to various health problems, including obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes, maintaining a healthy weight is very important. The fact that whole wheat products help us with that makes them extremely beneficial for our health.
